360 Security Antivirus Boost

360 Total Security is a completely free online antivirus and security solution developed by Qihoo. Its antivirus protection is powered by two major third party providers. But is this program merely a repackaging of other tools or does it have an independent value? Virus protection forms the core of this security suite, but the engines that make this work are actually Avira and BitDefender. For those who need reliable protection, that's great news: both scanners have performed excellently in independent reviews. There are three scanning options: a fast scan (which is very fast - mine took less than five minutes), a custom scan, and a full system scan. There is also a built-in patch-up function that automatically checks installed programs to make sure they are not obsolete or contain vulnerabilities. If the system detects a program with an available update, the details of the update and a link to download the new version will appear. This is a great feature: the obsolete software is a hacker's mine (67% of computers affected by the WannaCry virus were running an obsolete version of Windows). In addition to the vulnerability scanner, the software also looks for other "system anomalies" after running. It automatically marked a "promotional tag URL navigation icon" and resolved it quickly during my test. Qihoo 360 Total Security is more than just a virus scanner. Comprehensive acceleration and cleaning tools improve the state of your system by removing unnecessary applications and boot files. There is also a handy graph of your system's average boot time so it's easy to track progress as you disable unnecessary boot services (which can drastically slow system load time). If you don't like preconfigured automatic acceleration tools, Total Security also provides a "manual" menu that allows you to control system settings. Finally, the "History" panels allow you to see any changes in the system optimization settings. These tools integrate very well with the "Scheduled Cleanup" function.
