"There, in the chords and melodies, is everything I want to say. The words just jolly it along. It’s always been my way of expressing what, for me, is inexpressible by any other means.”
– David Bowie
I’m Antoinette Yvonne. I'm a 22 year old singer who writes her own music and does song covers on the side. I'm currently a student in the Conservatory of Music in the University of Santo Tomas.
Growing up with a the CD album of Metallica's The Black Album and Queen's Greatest hits, I was inspired to become a singer and instill enjoyment and understanding through music. I found as a teenager that music when I could not express myself in words, captured the emotions I felt in those moments of joy, sadness and sorrow. It was also an escape and form of comfort. That's why I began to write my own songs. Not only do I want to create art but my wish is that my music can be a moments respite for those who listen and for them to know that they are not alone.
My dream is for my music to affect others the same way the artists that have saved and understood me have. I don't want to keep my music limited to just one genre and I hope through the years, I get to explore more and learn more about my art.
