Boston, Massachusetts, United States
I am a junior currently studying Management at the Isenberg School of Management within the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Along with being in the Honors College, I hold a position as a facilities supervisor at the Campus Recreation Center.
Some of my passions include entrepreneurship, traveling, renewable energy, trying new things, and sports.
Although I am not sure exactly what I want to do with my career, I would like to eventually own my own business. So I'm constantly thinking of different types of products that people would buy.
I love traveling, and I'm privileged to have been to many different places. My father is Portuguese, so my family has traveled to Portugal many times. I have taken several Portuguese language classes in preparation to study abroad. In fact, I aim to go next spring!
When I think of my career, I want to be in a field that is growing. Energy is no exception. With fossil fuels becoming increasingly scarce, renewable energy are becoming more and more important. Overcoming "big oil" is a big task, but the person who discovers cheap, renewable energy and markets it effectively will be the richest man in the world.
I love trying new things and challenging myself. I have had a wide range of work experiences, from being a human resources intern to being a server assistant in a restaurant. By taking on different types of challenges, I was able to see what my strengths and weaknesses are. In this way, I have greatly improved my brand.
I love sports. Being from Boston and being privileged to have the most successful teams in the country spoiled me. By studying Portuguese and learning more about European culture, I have gained a new love for soccer, too. Sports knowledge is also, in my opinion, a great networking tool. Many people like sports, and having knowledge about them opens more doors for conversation.
