Anton Lennikov is an accomplished academic whose passion for learning and research has led him to pursue an international career. His initial studies in medicine began in Russia at Pacific State University, where he earned an advanced degree in ophthalmology. Seeking to expand his horizons, Anton enrolled in the Ph.D. program at Hokkaido University’s Graduate School of Medicine in Japan. There, he completed his doctoral research, focusing NFκB pathway inhibitors on streptozotocin-induced diabetic retinopathy.

After earning his Ph.D. in 2013, Anton took on a postdoctoral research fellow role in the Department of Ophthalmology at Sapporo Medical University, Japan, under the mentorship of Hiroshi Ohguro. His research continued to focus on diabetic retinopathy and ocular inflammation. This was followed by a move to the United States, where Anton joined the National Cancer Institute's Laboratory of Genitourinary Cancer Pathogenesis.

Anton then transitioned to Linkoping University in Sweden, working as a postdoctoral researcher under Neil Lagali in the Division of Neuro and Inflammation Sciences. Following this, he completed additional postdoctoral research under Hu Huang at both Johns Hopkins University and the University of Missouri, before finally joining the Schepens Eye Institute in the United States under Chen Dong Feng. Since 2023, Anton has served as an Instructor in Ophthalmology at Schepens Eye Institute.

With nearly a decade of international experience as a scientist and traveler, Anton remains passionate about scientific discovery, innovation, and engaging with different cultures.
