Antonnio Benton, an Urban Planner, brings a wealth of experience managing multi-million-dollar projects in various sectors, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. His background in urban design, project management, and community engagement informs his progressive approach to connecting people with outdoor environments. Antonnio has collaborated with urban and rural governments, nonprofits, and communities, accumulating seven years of experience working on community-driven projects.
He considers himself a ‘forever student,’ eager to build on his Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Georgetown University. He constantly seeks ways to push his work to be more climate and environmentally resilient.
Antonnio’s hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has contributed to success and decision join the Trust for Public Land. He currently serves as the Colorado Parks for People Project Manager where he oversees community engagement, park planning, design, and construction. Additionally, Antonnio serves as the Field Advisor to the National Community Strategies team, focusing on best practices for place-based community engagement and partnership development.
As a community advocate, Antonnio has served on multiple boards and commissions, including the Front Range Urban Forestry Consortium, Healthy Food for Denver Kids Commission, Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council, Denver Arts & Venues’s cultural arts panels, and as Co-Chair of the inaugural Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Advisory Board.
Antonnio believes adaptability in his practice is vital to success - a tenet he lives out through his various hobbies of hiking, kayaking, biking, and fly fishing.
