In every one of my business connections, I assume that confidence and mutual respect be important ingredients in my connection with one other person. If one or both faculties do not occur, then a relationship shouldnt proceed any more. So, what do you do when you've an uncomfortable or weird feeling about doing work for someone, but you cant put your hand onto it? In case you continue the business relationship or proceed? Sometimes you've a gut reaction to a specific project while other times there may be something concerning the project that only goes against your principles or just doesnt sit well with you. No matter, only finish the business relationship and proceed. How you end the partnership is up to you. Showing the person that you're busy with other tasks is okay, if you desire to keep a door open. If you want to shut the door, you could tell them especially why you no longer want to work for this person.
