I remember being a young girl and my mother asking my sisters and me what we wanted to do when we grew up. My reply was simple and consistent, “Dress up in fancy clothes and meet important people!” I know it sounds like a child with little direction but I always knew I wanted to be where important people were and I wanted to know those important people. I loved being around people, my friends, my sisters’ friends, my parents’ friends. Just the thought of putting people in one place excited me. I recall throwing my first party at the age of 8. Although it was just a basement party in my hometown of Washington, DC, I was smitten. I loved organizing; planning and watching it all come together.
After I attended a fashion college, entered corporate America, became a mother and went through a divorce I was able to finally live out my dream. I became an event planner. With my company, AnyEvent Event Planning Service, I am an IEP (Independent Event Planner) who plans weddings, corporate functions, family gatherings, community related events and fundraisers among a host of other events for individuals with conservative and lavish budgets.
I can honestly admit that I never knew what an event planner did until I read an article in Essence magazine on how a woman went from the corporate world to event planning. I boldly proclaimed that day that she was me!
AnyEvent Event Planning Service opened its doors in February 2005 and we have been going strong ever since. We pride ourselves on getting down to the detail of events. We specialize in catering to the needs of the clients and far exceeding their expectations. We love what we do and we are gearing up for substantial growth. We have clients throughout Dallas/Fort Worth and in the Washington DC. Our motto, “No event is too big or too small.”
