Amherst, Massachusetts, United States
I am currently a Junior in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. I am set to graduate in the Spring of 2016 and hope to pursue a career in event planning. My ultimate dream is to plan large-scale weddings or event help plan the VMAs!
Event Planning has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I liked helping my mom plan my birthday parties when I was a child and arranging dinner parties for my parents and I. In high school event planning was my life. I was on Student Council and helped plan all of our cotillions. My senior year I was the head of the prom committee and the spirit week/pep rally committe (junior and senior year). Also my senior year I helped plan our class trip to Disney World in Florida, which was a blast! Event planning makes me so happy and I could not imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life. Why not doing something that brings you happiness?
I am employed at Big Y foods in Amherst. I am a front-end supervisor, service desk attendant and am a cashier trainer. Through working at Big Y I have learned how to interaction with customers giving them the world-class service they deserve!
Being a brother, yes brother, in Phi Sigma Pi is absolutely my favorite thing about Umass. It’s a gender inclusive Honor fraternity upholding the ideals of Scholarship, Leadership and my personal favorite, Fellowship. For the Fall 2014 semester I am one of the co-chairs of the Greek Outreach Committee. My committee plans fun things with other Greek Chapters such as service projects at Look Park in Northampton, socials, and anything that involves food.
What I am most excited about in my future is going to study abroad in Lucerne, Switzerland at the Cèsar Ritz College. I am set to leave January 2nd, 2015 at 9:45pm! I will be there for one full year—taking six months of classes and then interviewing for internships around Europe, so I’ll be working for six months after.
I also enjoy playing the piano, which I have been doing for twelve years! I've attending the Stony Brook International Piano Festival three times and competed and placed in the New England Piano Championships five times.
