Hello and Welcome to My Life!

I am a Speech and Hearing Science major with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology and a minor in African American Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research interest vary, but I am infatuated with the origin and current stigmas attached to African American Vernacular English, also known as Black English. My previous research experience is in the area of Racial Microaggressions (RMA), and I focused on RMAs that were occuring in academic environments ( i.e. Classrooms, Study Groups, Libraries, and etc.). For the past four years, I have tutored middle and grade school students struggling in math, english, and writing. I love working with children, and I plan to help children struggling with speech and cultural fluency find beneficial tools to become successful scholars.
