Carrboro, North Carolina, United States
With a background in visual arts, I feel at home with lines, colors, and shapes. I have a passion for creativity and am constantly creating. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I am studying Graphic Design and International Politics and Social Movements. My curiosity drives me to try new things and new media. Paint, pencil, charcoal, computer arts, photography, lattes(!), you name it; I've explored it.
In the past I have interned at a local magazine, designing ads for its monthly issue and weekly newspaper. I was also a design intern at a branding company, where I worked closely with the creative director on illustrations and participated in brainstorming discussions. This past semester I was the Art Director for a start-up ipad and print magazine that focused on the up-and-coming way to travel-- Voluntourism. Currently I work with a local outfitters, an arts consultancy, as well as a non-profit storytelling group to create promotional material, gift certificates, posters, and web material. On top of that I have also designed app (android and apple) icons, album covers, and beer tap labels.
When I am not creating, you'll find me outdoors, exploring new places, walking my dog, or watching Carolina Basketball.
Currently on the hunt for a permanent position at a design firm (of sorts), post graduation.
