Ask a kid what they want to be when they grow up and you'll hear the usual, "Fireman", "Astronaut". Or the ambitious will say, "Doctor", Lawyer". But when I was a kid, I wanted to be in Advertising. This was before Mad Men was a popular cable TV show glorifying the industry. All I knew is that I didn't like what I saw in advertising, and I thought I could do better. Fast forward some 30 years later, and here I am... living the dream. It's not exactly in the capacity I dreamt, but here I am nonetheless. I did what I thought I was supposed to do; majored in Advertising in college, but when I graduated, no one was ready to hire me to make commercials for the Super Bowl. So I went into sales, yellow pages ad sales. It was good to me and my family, and I couldn't see it when I started, but it would lay the foundation upon which I would end building my dream career. That dream career is planning, buying and executing Digial Media campaigns. I'm now responsible for millions of dollars of ad budget for companies large and small. You see that smile on my face? Ear. To. Ear.
