I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in Civil Engineering and worked for five years as a consultant in the water and wastewater industry. My projects ranged from storm water quality planning to risk management of municipal sewer systems. Through this experience, I was drawn to the planning side of city infrastructure and wanted to incorporate the social aspects of urban living into the city landscape. In 2011, I started a Masters program in Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Focused on international development and community development, I like to use my technical engineering skills in combination with my softer, socially conscious side to advocate for a more just urban experience. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, photography, traveling, running, and cycling.
