Anna Puckridge

Anna Puckridge has been teaching Physical Education at Walford for 5 years and has also taught Computer Technology. Anna is an Apple Distinguished Educator and HPE Coordinator since 2010. She has been active in ensuring her faculty promotes engagement through the use of mobile technologies both in and out of the traditional classroom setting. Anna has embedded a range of iPad apps into classroom practice that promote and deepen the General Capabilities of Numeracy and provide opportunities for critical and creative thinking. The iPad apps used in HPE were selected to target the specific learning needs and the interests of the students. This approach has also resulted in more sophisticated numeracy skills, increased student motivation and higher student achievement. Anna’s current PhD research is focused around the dissonance between student knowledge of the benefits of physical activity and their reluctance to be participate in organized sport
