Aral Atakan (born November 11, 2011) is an independent researcher and the founder of TTU Space Institute, conducting research across materials science, nuclear physics, astrobiology, and space technologies.
Atakan has strengthened his academic background through educational programs offered by prestigious institutions such as Arizona State University (ASU), POSTECH, and the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). His current work focuses on several key areas:
Space Architecture & Composite Materials: Development of next-generation construction materials designed for extreme environments and extraterrestrial surfaces, alongside mechanical strength and performance analysis.
Nuclear Physics & Radiation: Theoretical and experimental applications of nuclear physics principles, with a focus on radiation interactions in extreme space environments.
Astrobiology: Theoretical and experimental research into the stability, preservation, and behavior of organic molecules under extreme environmental conditions.
Advanced Materials Technologies: Independent projects involving the synthesis and development of functional nanomaterials and specialized gel systems.
Atakan continues to transform his research findings into academic publications and leads projects focused on space science and technology through TTU Space, the institute he founded.
