Journalist, Student, and Massage Therapist in Fairfax, California
I am a journalist and student at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, currently living in Fairfax, California.
Journalism is a path I started early on because I enjoy taking a magnifying glass to the layers that shape the world around us to forge deeper understanding and share those perceptions with a wider community.
I'm drawn to hyperlocal community-rooted reporting while also exploring investigations that connect local experiences to national and global forces. My interests range from covering government, policy, climate, and food systems to health, music, arts and culture. I like to focus on accountability reporting and human-centered storytelling that examines how public systems affect communities, especially those with less power or visibility. I feel a connection to pursuing stories about how communities experience change, and the historical, economic, and environmental forces driving those shifts.
In addition to narrative writing, I have experience in photography, audio/radio, video, and multimedia storytelling.
