Humberta Araujo

Toronto, ONTARIO

I am Canadian writer, teacher/tutor and journalist. Toronto is my home. My latest project "Words@50" is a work in progress. It is a place where fiction/poetry and/or fantasy are raw and in constant transformation. http://wordsat50.wordpress.com.

As a writer, I have published 3 books for kids and have had poems and short-stories published in literary magazines. One of my literary projects is "Words@50", a look into the life of women confronted by life's changes.

"Words@50" is also a place to share stories and the adventures of "@50 On The Road", a collection of insights about my traveling in Canada and abroad.

As a teacher, I have worked at the Catholic School Board (International Languages), founded a private school in Brampton and have tutored adults, people with disabilities and children.

In the field of journalism I have TV, Radio and Print experience and have published a multilingual magazine for kids.

Other areas of interest: Researcher and Speaker on Issues of Cultural Identity and Immigration, Immigrant Women and Media.
