Amy Carpenter-Leugs

Amy Carpenter Leugs is the author of the winning poem for the Adult Division of the 2015 Dyer-Ives Poetry Competition, called, "Cat and Bird: Contrapuntal for a Grieving Mother." She has written three children's books: French Toast for Maleek (2012), Lilliana Grows It Green (2013), and A Job for Hope (Fall 2015), all published by UCOM Open Door Press. Her reflective pieces have appeared in Parabola magazine and in the online magazine catapult.

A former English teacher, Amy now speaks and writes regularly about children and life learning to a wide audience through conferences and online forums.

Amy lives in Grand Rapids, MI with her husband, Michael, and their three unschooling sons.
