Anum Zahid

One might say that Anum Zahid was born to be a decorator. Growing up in Lahore, Pakistan, she assisted her mother in all kinds of home renovations, including the pink cabinets she chose for the kitchen when she was 12 years old. Those pink cabinets, by the way, remained in her Lahore’s home for a couple of years. She completed her high school from a prestigious school in Pakistan before moving to Toronto, Canada to pursue higher education. After a brief detour to study Environmental Management and Biology to attain her bachelor from University of Toronto, she joined Humber College in September 2011 to get a diploma in Interior Decorating. Before joining Humber College, over the summer of 2011, she visited Lahore for a couple of months where she worked with the most high-end Interior Decorator, Casa Hamza, and some of her main projects included working on combining a catalogue for Restoration Hardware to become their official supplier, and designing the interior for International Fashion Academy Pakistan (IFAP) according to the requirements of Elite Model Management. Starting September 2011, with full-time school, she works part-time as an Interior Decorating Intern for two firms; Sycamore Design and Urban Amish Interiors. She is a regular volunteer at Design Exchange and apart from that, volunteers her time at the IDRC and Designer’s Walk. She successfully completed her first semester at Humber College with an exceptional GPA that put her name on the Honour Roll. She can be contacted via Email: Cell #: (647) 880.8175 Blog:
