7th generation Angeleno, father of three wonderful children and husband to one amazing Xikana.
Employed as a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Social Policy (www.CSSP.org), current projects include EC-LINC, Best Start and a planning grant with Santa Ana to improve literacy using EDI data.
Serves as a consultant supporting various community based organizations and national projects in the fields of youth development, civic engagement, restorative/transformative justice, reentry, substance abuse and various native issues.
Works with Red Road Consulting to provide free and low cost restorative and transformative justice services that emphasize building off of native/indigenous philosophies. Target populations for these services are youth and communities of color throughout Southern California.
Early work experience includes community organizing against gentrification in the USC area (on and off campus), case management and youth advocacy for a South LA based YouthBuild program and teaching at the Peace Kids Camp at the United University Church on the campus of USC.
Also volunteers as a tutor and mentor at Visionary Youth Center in East Hollywood.
