Ari Heavner

Hi, I’m Ari Heavner, a co-owner of Idle Cellars and a passionate wine professional based in Sonoma.

My journey with wine started early, growing up just across the street from my mentor, Robert Rex, in Berkeley.

I was fortunate to apprentice with Robert at Deerfield Ranch Winery, where I had the chance to learn the craft firsthand and meet my business partner, Ben Larks. Together, we made our first batch of Idle Cellars wine back in 2006.

Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for wine tasting and winemaking, which both define what we call the Wine Experience.

I’m grateful to continue sharing that passion with friends and fellow wine lovers around the world. While I don’t claim to know everything, I’m always eager to learn more and help others discover the joy of great wine.
