A believer in learning by doing, Ariane Guidry helps musicians build awareness and support for their music and media.
Before radio lost its luster, Ariane’s love for new music grew roots at 90.9FM KSLU, the college station of Southeastern Louisiana University. Named Producer of the Year before serving as music director, she became the receiving end of radio promoters’ weekly music-peddling calls. Upon graduation, Organic Entertainment & Media hired her as its director of radio promotions, and so she relocated to New York City and to the opposite end of the phone line. It was at Organic that Ariane built a promotions department from the ground up, and developed skills in public relations and booking.
With the planting of her own promotions company, Easy Apple,* Ariane’s interests broadened and she discovered an untapped talent for showcasing new artists. She presented several festival showcases, managing all aspects from booking, press, sponsorships and even hosting duties.
In her work with dozens of indie artists and record labels, her zest for creative, effective communication was always her focus. As a contributor to DC-based music blog, The Vinyl District, she shared her wild experiences from music festivals, recaps of industry discussion panels, and nightlife shenanigans with touring bands. Now working on her master’s in communication at Johns Hopkins, Ariane is unafraid to take risks, and is positioning herself as a powerful and versatile communications professional.
