Aria Sulhan Witoelar

Ir. Aria Sulhan Witoelar was born in Jakarta, Jan 8th 1972. In 1990, Aria studied at the University of Indonesia (UI), Faculty of Engineering. In 1991 he established UI Tennis Club, and became its first chairman. He was active in the Student Senate and became Chairman of the UI Cup 1993.
During campus years, in 1990 - 1994, Aria volunteered in Dana Mitra Lingkungan Foundation (www.dml.or.id). He also started his first company, PT Gaung Cipta Semesta, organizing international cultural exchanges.
Since 1996, with a partner, Aria established PT Bubu Kreasi Perdana (www.bubu.com). It is an award-winning industry leader in providing digital agency solution. Many clients trust their digital campaign to Bubu, including Telkomsel, Unilever (Citra, Sunlight, etc), Intel, MeadJohnson, Reckitt Benckiser (Dettol, Durex, etc.), LG, Indofood, and Manchester United.
In 2003, Aria became a shareholder in PT Tiga Pilar Sekuritas, a member of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). In 2012, the company was bought by Morgan Stanley.
In 2004, Aria with a partner, took over the shares of PT Borneo Indo Bara (www.borneo-indobara.com), the second largest coal mine in South Kalimantan, which was then sold to Sinar Mas Group in 2007. Then they invested in a large coal mine in Kalimantan Barat (PT Yamabhumi Palaka) and a coal mine in Riau (PT Riau Bara Harum).
In 2008, Aria founded and became the CEO of PT Arya Watala Capital, a private equity company. Since 2014, it focuses in renewable energy and energy efficieny businesses.
Besides doing business, since 2010, Aria is also in Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Renewable Energy and Environment Department. And then since 2015, he is in the Executive Committee of DPP Gerindra as Deputy General Secretary.
