Artist, Designer, and Illustrator in Mississippi
Ariss King is a multidisciplinary creative offering a versatile but focused skill-set; a balance between creative and analytical qualities with an emphasis on solutions. She craves order, loves all things design and theatre, and seeks harmony between work & life.
Ariss graduated in December 2014 with her Bachelor's degree from Mississippi College in Graphic Design with a minor in Theatre. She has interned with Stadium Wrap America, L.L.C. building large, stadium-sized photo and design banners for sports teams for pre-press. Ariss has also interned for the locally-prestigious Jackson, Mississippi-based alternative newspaper, Jackson Free Press, as a graphic designer where she helped with layouts, logos, illustrations, and their BOOM magazine prepress. She has also stage managed for Jackson Free Press/BOOM events that had up to sometimes 1,500+ attendance. She then began to become an event co-ordinator and stage manager for more of JFP's events--such as the Night Circus themed Best of Jackson party, the BOOM magazine sponsored fundraiser with local chefs called Chef Week, and the fundraiser in conjunction with the Center for Domestic Violence called Chick Ball. She currently works as freelance creative.
In her spare time, you can usually find Ariss indulging in a graphic novel, watching Adventure Time, going to a local play or musical, studying different languages, or expanding her personal brand in hopes of becoming a future entrepreneur in the creative frontier!
Current professional pursuit: Full-time entry-level design position, freelance design opportunity, or creative field position.
