Andrew Jones

Raleigh, NC

I am an 18-year professional sports journalist whose main focus has been ACC football and basketball, but I have also covered the Carolina Hurricanes, Carolina Panthers, and to a lesser degree the Charlotte Bobcats and MLB.

I spent 10 years writing for a daily newspaper (Wilmington StarNews) and most recently three years writing for FOXSports.com and subsidiary sites FOXSportsSouth.com and FoxSportsCarolinas.com.

In addition, I have extensive experience as a radio talk show host and co-host and have done some light TV work.

Among my many fascinating media experiences have been covering several Final Fours, bowl games, Stanley Cup Finals, Cam Newton's first NFL training camp, and the many coaches and athletes that have made my career so rewarding.

I have been married for nine years to a wonderfully supportive woman, a neonatal nurse whom I respect and admire deeply. We have a beautiful 4-year-old daughter and two sons from my wife's previous marriage.

I was raised in Alexandria, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C., and moved to North Carolina in 1998, where shortly after I began working at the StarNews.

My life has been blessed many times over, as I was raised by two amazing parents decorated with truly fascinating lives and have close relationships with my family. My favorite movie is "Shawshank Redemption" and the Baltimore Orioles are my favorite sports team. You might say I've been an Eddie Murray freak for many, many years.
