Dana M Barnes

Dana Morrison Barnes is the President and Owner of Lindsey Funeral Home of Yazoo City Inc, and an accomplished accounting professional and entrepreneur with more than four decades of expertise in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, tax planning, and financial management. She is also the Owner and President of Armstrong and Barnes Group LLC, where she has spent over 15 years providing comprehensive financial and administrative solutions to small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and individuals. Her work includes tax preparation, IRS and state tax resolution, audit representation, and strategic business consulting.

In addition to leading her firm, Dana built an extensive career with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security in accounting, auditing, and program management. Her responsibilities included overseeing multimillion-dollar funding streams, conducting compliance audits, managing complex accounting systems, and training personnel on financial reporting and database management.

Dana’s leadership extends beyond accounting into operational management and regulated industries. She has served in senior roles in both the private and public sectors, including as General Manager and CFO of Lindsey Funeral Home Inc, where she led operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance. In her current funeral service leadership, she is committed to serving families with compassion, dignity, and excellence, ensuring every detail is handled with respect, discretion, and care.

A graduate of Tougaloo College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics, Cum Laude, Dana also completed master’s level coursework in Accounting at Jackson State University. She is known for accurately interpreting client needs, implementing efficient systems, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity. Through Armstrong and Barnes Group LLC, she helps organizations strengthen financial management, compliance, and administration by delivering full service accounting, controller, and CFO support, from bookkeeping and tax planning to financial strategy and long term stability.
