My name is Aroa, and I am originally from Pamplona, in Spain. Ever since I am a little girl, I have always had a passion for foreign languages. When I was in High School I would always be the one that other students would go to for help, and the teachers soon noticed my ability to make hard concepts easy to understand, as well as how my passion for languages and learning in general was contagious! They encouraged me to go to school for teaching, which I did.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education majoring in Foreign Language Teaching from the Universidad de La Rioja. Other than for having some of the best wines in the world, La Rioja is known for being the birthplace of Spanish, and even today, this is where one of the purest varieties of Spanish is spoken.
Throughout my years of college I taught English and Spanish, both online and offline, to students of all ages and from different parts of the world. When I graduated in 2007 I moved to North Carolina where I taught English as a Second Language full time for 5 years. After I moved back to Spain, I decided to pursue my passion as a full time job - sharing my language and my culture from people from all around the world, something I am able to do thanks to online teaching!
I have a passion for teaching, and I like my students to have as much fun learning the language as I do teaching it. I believe in "learning by doing", not in long, boring lectures about vocabulary and grammar. My lessons usually consist of several "mini lessons" in which I introduce a new concept, and then we spend a few minutes practicing it. I will also teach you some of the skills and techniques that will teach you how to learn the language so you can become a life long learner!
