Student, Artist, and Musician in Philippines
Hello, I’m Aron Gabriel, Gab for short. I am an Economics degree holder and currently studying Music Education Voice Emphasis under the tutelage of Dr. Eugene A. Delos Santos at the University of Santo Tomas. I am currently the President of the Liturgikon Vocal Ensemble, one of the in-house choral groups of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.
I am very artsy person when it comes to what I wear. I mixed and match new and old clothes. Sometimes I even design my own apparel. I am also very passionate about Filipino indigenous textiles. I have apparels and accessories where it is accentuated by textiles from tribes of the Cordilleras of the North nd Maranao from the South.
I am firm believer that it is never too late to pursue music. As long as you have the will and the discipline you can move mountains. I never had any music lessons way back when I was a child. My knowledge in music was more on choral music since I am a chorister ever since 6th grade. My high school Music teacher inspired to become a music educator. He is one of the few people who believed in my capabilities that I can pursue music despite my lack of knowledge in music. My formal lessons in music only started when I entered the conservatory. It was a huge adjustment for me for studying requires a lot of practice and effort but with patience and perseverance I am able to get a hang of the music student life. This is the reason why I am firm believer that it is never too late to pursue music because if I did it, so can you.
As Catriona Gray said in the Miss Universe pageant "We owe it to our children to believe in them", we as well should believe in the dreams of the children. If they want to pursue music, we should let them. Music opens a portal into a new world where it will help the children to have a holistic growth.
