Artemio Armenta has more than seventen years of professional experience in communications, media relations, and governmental affairs. He has extensive on-the-record press experience in both English and Spanish.
Currently he is a Public Information Officer II (management) with the Office of Public Affairs & Media Relations at the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
He previously worked as a government affairs associate at the Public Policy Institute of California. He also managed media coverage as a senior news & political producer for Univision, including producing the only statewide Spanish language political affairs talk show, Voz y Voto.
In addition, he served as an executive fellow in the prestigious Capital Fellows Program in the California Environmental Protection Agency and served as a Washington, DC, intern for the late Congressman Robert Matsui through the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy. He also worked for the Office of Public Affairs at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
Artemio graduated with academic honors from Brown University with a double major in International Relations and Hispanic Studies. He is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking both Spanish and basic French.
