For the past two years, Arthur Oscher has been an independent telecommunications agent in the San Jose area, representing more than 20 service providers who sell data, voice, VoIP solutions, wireless, and Ethernet solutions to small and medium businesses. Additionally, Arthur Oscher serves as an independent job coach advising job candidates on writing resumes, researching companies, approaching potential employers, and conducting themselves professionally in interviews. Prior to going independent in these areas, Arthur Oscher supplemented his MBA from Fordham University with experience in telecommunications, computer systems, security software, and job recruiting. Arthur Oscher gained in-house or contract experience in human resources (HR) and telecommunications at such companies as Mpower Communications, Fujitsu, Guidance Software Inc., and AT&T.; On behalf of AT&T;, Arthur Oscher sourced and recruited nearly 300 candidates for telecommunications jobs in his position as HR Contract Recruiter. He advised HR recruiting management on strategy, sourced candidates, and screened and interviewed potential employees to gauge their fit for the position and company culture. Also an HR Contract Recruiter for Fujitsu, one of the world’s largest technology and computer companies, Arthur Oscher handled recruiting from sourcing to job acceptance as well as supervising a recruiting coordinator. Sourcing techniques employed by Arthur Oscher included direct contact, networking, referrals, posting, and job boards. Full-cycle recruitment of sales, technical, and support staff positions in both the U.S. and U.K. in security software was also a specialty for Arthur Oscher at Guidance Software Inc. Arthur Oscher evaluated candidates for suitability and fit prior to presentation, and drove the hiring process. As senior recruiter and recruiting manager for Mpower, Arthur Oscher oversaw the vendor process, negotiated contracts, saved the company $160,000 by eliminating third-party vendors, and managed recruiting for an 850-employee telecommunications sales division.
