After realizing that small investors require neutral, independent investment management, Arthur Schiel established Avalon Financial Management in March 1992. For almost 20 years, Arthur Schiel has provided investment counsel to individuals and assisted them in handling their mutual funds, bonds, and stocks. Aside from helping his clients with their investments, Arthur Schiel oversees the daily operations of Avalon Financial Management as well as the areas of business development and research. In addition, he plays a key role in customer support. A thriving, mid-sized business today, Avalon Financial Management began as a de novo company. Under Arthur Schiel’s direction, the firm grew, and it now caters to individual investors all over the country. Registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Avalon Financial Management presently manages more than $50 million in assets. Arthur Schiel’s desire to help others extends beyond his business, as reflected by his participation in various charities and organizations. Besides serving as an Investment Committee Member at La Salle Academy, he contributes to Home of the Sparrow, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and his alma mater, Lehigh University. Arthur Schiel also functions as a Director and Officer for A Front Row Seat to Learning, a group that gives young people in Philadelphia a chance to receive quality secondary education. Additionally, he co-founded The Schiel Family Foundation with the goal of supporting children in the area. Born in Philadelphia, Arthur Schiel holds degrees from Lehigh University (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics, and History, 1970; Master of Business Administration, 1980) and Temple University (Master of Arts in Economic History, 1974).
