Arthur W Ryan

New York, NY

Arthur W. Ryan joined the private investment group Turtle Bay Capital in 2011. Most recently, the New York-based merchant banking and advisory firm has launched a fund to invest in markets in Latin America. Arthur Ryan's background in structuring financial transactions and his prior work in emerging markets in the clothing industry makes him well-suited as a Strategic Advisor for the company.

Much of Ryan's financial background comes from his time at J.P. Morgan. As a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Securities, Arthur W. Ryan led the Transportation Team within the Structured Finance Group. In 2002, he structured a deal for Delta Airlines that won his team the Deal of the Year award.

Outside the realm of transportation, Arthur Ryan helped locate financing for sustainably minded clothing companies Rogan, LLC, and Loomstate, LLC. Ryan first helped secure investment capital for Rogan, a boutique fashion line designed by Rogan Gregory, in 2002. Arthur W. Ryan, Rogan Gregory, and Scott Mackinlay Hahn went on to launch Loomstate, an environmentally friendly apparel business, in 2003. Ryan soon left J.P. Morgan to serve as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the allied companies.

Arthur W. Ryan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. His undergraduate degree from Providence College is in Mathematics. Ryan is an active philanthropist with a special interest in environmental causes, human rights, and children's education. He is a Board Member of the Council for Textile Recycling, and a member of the Strategic Apparel Coalition. He supports causes such as the Sierra Club, WildAid, and the Natural Resource Defense Council.

Along with giving to the great outdoors, Arthur Ryan makes ample use of it: he enjoys kite surfing, rock climbing, and white-water rafting, among other hobbies. He is a fan of both the Washington Redskins and the British soccer club the Tottenham Hotspurs. Ryan and his wife have two young children.
