The Artists’ Colony of Jerusalem sit on one of the tributaries of the Kidron Valley, in the northern part of the biblical Gehenna (Valley of the Son of Hinnom), on the road that connected Judaean Desert to Jerusalem in ancient times. The complex sits on the land of Jawrart Al Inab neighborhood which was founded as part of the expansion of Jerusalem in the late19th century. The neighborhood was built on a land that was part of a cattle market. It was acquired by poor Jews.
