Artist, Mother, and Writer in Belfast, United Kingdom
I was born in Belfast in 1973 during the heat of the Troubles
From an early age I discovered the Art of Drawing by scribbling over my sister’s school books. I have been DEAF since four years old due to a head injury and was Bullied for it, so I turned to Art as escapism from childhood bullies. This little safety net resulted in winning some art awards during primary and high school.
I studied Art and design at Doncaster Deaf College. However, being an Artist was considered a bad career move and I returned to Gloomy Belfast and took on a New job training as junior administration. Soon Leaving to be a Full time Mother and Wife. During the following years as my first marriage fell apart, I began to re-embrace Art and Poetry. Slowly going from strength to strength.
I Love exploring new areas and styles of Art, from the colourful street life – to the harmony landscapes – to the silent unspoken human emotions. I believe every Art is like unspoken poetry or hidden story screaming to be told and it is the Artist’s job to break the silence.
I am Married with three grown children and Grandchildren and lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
