Photojournalist, Bilingual, and Former Senior AME Visuals in Chicago, Illinois
I'm a visual journalist with 20+ years of experience shooting breaking news, features, and community stories across print, and digital. I spent 8 years leading visual teams at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Rockford Register Star. Now I'm back to what I love most: shooting.
I've been a staff photographer at the Allentown Morning Call, Ottawa Daily Times, Des Moines Register, and other outlets. I also took assignments during major news events while leading visual teams. I never lost the connection to the craft.
I shoot daily on Chicago's streets for practice and professional growth. I also teach Video Journalism at Northwestern's Medill School and mentor student journalists at La DePaulia.
Recent published work: Block Club Chicago, 15West.org, Cook County Crime Stoppers
What I bring:
- 20+ years shooting daily assignments
- Staff photography background across regional and national outlets
- Nikon camera system
- Photo Mechanic/Lightroom/Photoshop workflow
- Bilingual (Spanish), critical for access and trust in Latino communities
Let's talk if you need a shooter who shows up, files clean, and makes your photo editor's life easier.
