David is a recipient of multiple prestigious fellowships, including two Journalism Reporting Fellowships with the Earth Journalism Network (in Nairobi, Kenya and Virtual, for Montréal, Canada ), and an Investigative Reporting Fellowship from Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL).
Academic & Consultant
Arulkarki maintains a strong academic presence, serving as a Visiting Academic at The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) in Badulla since July 2023. In this capacity, he is responsible for teaching and assessing Political and Sociology courses for the English-medium Bachelor of Social Studies degree program. He is a highly proficient speaker of Tamil (Native), English, and Sinhala.
In a consulting/leadership role, he is also an Assistant Manager at Virakesari Newspaper in Bandarawela, where he is responsible for Newspaper Distribution, News, Advertising, and Marketing Leadership for the UVA region of Sri Lanka.
