Having decade-long experience in multimedia journalism at Nepal TV News, Arun Karki is spearheading Center for Data Journalism Nepal (CDJN), a non-profit organization established to work on data journalism by facilitating investigative journalists of Nepal. Holding master’s degree in Information/Communication Technology along with a strong track record of a proven self-starter and creative troubleshooter, he is appreciated for his well-built journalistic sense of multimedia curation, writing, creating original ideas and steady hand.
Awarded fellowship by Thomson Reuters Foundation, Dart Center Asia-Pacific, Journalismfund.eu, Global Investigative Journalism Network, Investigative Reporters and Editors, ICFJ and UN Foundation, he has also won two investigative journalism reporting projects on Nepal's Post Earthquake Recovery and Climate Change.
He contributes freelance articles for Reuters and International Journalists’ Network (IJNet), as well as works as a consultant at Center for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) - Nepal where his deliverables are - to lead data journalism training classes and to mentor investigative journalists - in data led multimedia news stories. He approaches his work with assurance, inquisitiveness, and insight.
