Arzucan Askin is currently student body representative of Berlin (Landesschülerausschuss - LSA) and is also member of the Berlin School Advisory Board (Landesschulbeirat - LSB) in cooperation with the Senate Administration for Education, Youth and Science (Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Wissenschaft).
Other organizations in which she has been active include Key Club International, the National Honors Society and Amnesty International. She was appointed Junior Ambassador of Germany by the German Bundestag, co sponsored by the American Congress and spent a year in the United States, organizing international projects to promote intercultural understanding, speaking to members of the House of Representatives, participataing in international meetings and serving as a volunteer in the Polynesian Culture Center to promote Hawaiian culture.
After participating in the Better Understanding for a Better World Conference, she has been in contact with the Civilizations and Exchange Cooperation Foundation. She has been active in the field of youth engagement in politics including having participated in Model UN Conferences and the youth congresses.
She is also member of the ePals Germany Advisory Board. ePals is the leading provider of safe collaborative technology for schools to connect and learn in a protected, project-based learning network - with classrooms in 200 countries and territories. Arzucan is freelance writer for the German Education News (Deutsche Bildungsnachrichten). In summer 2013 she will depart to Hong Kong to obtain her International Baccalaureate Diploma at the Li Po Chun United World College and to promote international and intercultural understanding, peace, equal rights and respect for the environment.
