Born in Reykjavik and started early working on a farm and later in the energy industry for the ABB agent in Iceland. I first got BA in Philosophy and Economics at the University of Iceland and then MBA from Norwegian Business School in Oslo 2001. Afterwards I worked for the University of Iceland on operations and real estate development. Moved to Sweden in 2004 and was head of the Nordic operations of ProLogis (NYSE: PLD) an investment trust focusing on industrial real estate from 2005-2008. In the summer of 2008 I became post-graduate student in business research and defended a Licentiate thesis at the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University in the Department of Accounting in the autumn 2010. The study investigated valuation and real estate investments. It has been published as book in 2011 called: Investments in a long-term perspective - how a family firm has built its assets. I am co-author of an illustrated book in Swedish based on the same research, published in 2011, titled To build a town - what values are behind it? Was deputy board member in SIPA, Scandinavian International Property Association during 2007-2010 and was treasurer and board member in Rådasjöns Yacht Club 2008-2010. Since the Young Scholars Initiative was established at the Berlin conference of Institute for New Economic Thinking in April 2012 I have been actively participating in the buildup and development of it. Through my own consulting firm I have been involved in preparations for real estate funds and development projects for private and public clients. I worked from 2010 at Gothenburg Research Institute on the research for my PhD thesis: Cash Flow Accounting in Banks - A study of practice. It was defended and published in 2014 and received the Oscar Sillén prize 2015 as best dissertation in Sweden in Business Economics. From 2015 to 2017 I have been awarded Wallander Postdoc from Handelsbanken in Sweden.
