Listen to my podcast

I'm a writer, podcaster, community builder, and persistent optimist.

I'm the author of eight books, most recently:

-- Parent Hacks: 134 Genius Shortcuts for Life With Kids (Workman Publishing, 2016), an illustrated collection of clever tips and creative reuses for new parents.

-- with co-author Christine Koh, Minimalist Parenting: Enjoy Modern Family Life More by Doing Less (Bibliomotion, 2013), a sane, practical guidebook for sidestepping the pressure and guilt inherent in today's parenting climate.

Christine and I also co-host Edit Your Life, a weekly podcast about how to declutter your home, schedule, and mental space without getting bogged down by perfection or expectations.

I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, 17 year-old son, and 13 year-old daughter.

I believe people are generally good, smart, and generous. I do my best to share that message every day.
