I am currently graduate student working on cryptography. My projects are mainly about how to securely implement a proposed cipher which is secure against known cryptanalysis but can leak some internal information about the secret inside.
The attacks which aimed at such an implementations are called side-channel attacks. These types of attacks can be done by measuring power, looking at electromagnetic emanation end even measuring the running time. The countermeasures can improve the performance of such a leaky device.
I am studying these countermeasures and how can we implement them in realistic scenarios.
I have done my undergraduate in Sharif University of Technology which is a well-known university in the region in which less than one percent of applicants are admitted each year.
