Above all I am a man of boundless curiosity. I currently teach history at a charter high school, but I am looking to expand my online presence as a writer, editor, and culture critic. I am the founder and editor in chief of the culture site The Erstwhile Philistine. I am also a staff film critic at Next Projection. My views on culture are diverse, sometimes contrarian, but always carefully thought out and elegantly written. I love film, television, literature, music, food, and sports, but am largely allergic to politics (except for the weird, out of the way variety). Major influences on my critical thought include Marshall McLuhan, Rene Girard, Christopher Lasch, and T.S. Eliot.
