Ashish has recently submitted his doctoral dissertation in economics and management to the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich (LMU). He is working at the Munich Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research (MCIER) under the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich, Germany.
After completing B.A. Honors and M.Sc. in economics, Ashish was awarded European Commissions's Erasmus Mundus scholarship in 2008 to pursue European Master in Law and Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Hamburg. Ashish's LL.M. thesis submitted to the University of Manchester was accepted for publication in the Atlantic Review of Economics. In 2009, he was awarded a three year doctoral scholarship from the Max Planck Society to carry out research at the interface of intellectual property, economics and management, followed by an additional merit based funding extension for 2013.
Ashish has previously worked with OECD, Deutsche Bank, and Government of India funded intiative at the WWF's New Delhi office. He serves as a Mentor for post-gradaute students at the University of Manchester, as a founding member of the organizing team of [IP]2 - Intellectual Property in Practice Group at the Max Planck Institute and as an editorial board member of Advances in Economics and Business journal.
Ashish holds membership of a number of professional associations including American Economic Association (AEA), European Economic Association (EEA), Royal Economic Society (RES), American Law and Economics Association (ALEA), European Association for Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) and Advances in Economics and Business (AEB).
Ashish's research interests include innovation management, economics of intellectual property rights, patents, green technologies, environment-development linkages and emerging markets.
