Hi there! I am a PhD candidate at Penn State in the Counselor Education and Supervision program. I’m a first-gen graduate student, which means I’m not only the first to get my master’s, but the first to pursue and achieve a PhD! This journey has been transformative and I’ve learned so much by working with folks like you along their journeys. I’ve had the honor to be a clinical mental health & rehabilitation counselor to several clients since beginning graduate school in the fall of 2020.
Since then, I’ve been able to expand upon research that I started in my master’s program: Mental Health Counseling for people with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Most of my work is focused on integrating disability education into counseling curricula. More specifically, I’ve set out to address the training needs for counselors & counselor trainees to work towards mote sufficient preparation to meet the needs of clients with IDD. to within counselor programs.
