Ashley Erin Nicole Watson
research in Atlanta, Georgia
I recently completed a Master's in Public Health degree with a concentration in Epidemiology at Georgia State University. My thesis project focused on the impact of maternal reading level on child weight in Mozambique. I spent my 3 years of undergraduate education studying psychology and working in a neurobiology lab, where I studied the effects of diet on memory. In 2012, I published my research in Vol. 1 of the Discovery, the official undergraduate research journal of Georgia State University's Honors College. I am a Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Acheivement Scholar and a former Disney College Program participant.
Currently, I am preparing my master's thesis for publication. Additionally, I will begin an internship in the Quality and Outcomes Department of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a Health Services Research intern, I will review and summarize research that was funded by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
