Ashley Wood

Ashley Wood is a foreign policy aide in the U.S. Senate with nearly a decade of experience in policy, research, and communications, including at the White House and the State Department.
Ashley was most recently an Associate Editor at Foreign Affairs magazine.
Previously, she was a Special Advisor at the State Department's Office of China Coordination, where she served as the communications unit chief and as the counternarcotics and law enforcement advisor on the political unit. She received several Superior and Meritorious Honor awards for her work to reduce the flow of fentanyl from China and to advance high-level diplomacy.
From 2021-2023, Ashley served as a policy advisor on the National Security Council staff. She worked on the National Security Strategy, Ukraine, Operation Allies Welcome, and the Summit for Democracy.
Prior to entering government service, Ashley held communications and research roles at the Biden-Harris Transition, National Security Action, and Edelman. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and originally from South Florida.
