“The position of the artist is humble. He is essentially a channel.”
-Piet Mondrian
Musicians are always in-demand during social activities and events. As a musician, I often encounter people asking me if I know anyone in my field who can play for a special event.
Being a performer myself, I have always wanted to connect with people using my craft.
Since we are a channel of music, why not also be a channel to people? A musician’s profession is a humble one, but nothing is as exciting as doing what you love and bringing joy to people through music.
I recall how there was a time when I attended a party and the speakers/sound system broke down. This caused the atmosphere to become quiet and dull for some time. I remember thinking if only there were musicians present to play music. This led me to the idea of wanting to create an avenue for music. I want to bring people good memories with my craft, as no social event is complete without music.
At the present, I am a 4th year student in the UST Conservatory of Music, yet to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance. Being a music student, I have known and established connections with different musicians. This makes it a whole lot easier as a music agent to look for musicians to cater for special events. By creating Music Avenue,I can continue to work with musicians and at the same time serve people through music.
