That quote would have been me if you asked me last year where I've been and the places I've seen. In the last few months, traveling has become one of my passions I never knew I had. As a young kid, I, like every other child loved family vacations, especially ones to hot locations surrounded by beach and water. I’ve never been that anxious, scared girl when boarding a plane or getting in the car for that long drive. In fact, the first time I left the country, I did it alone. Never once did I think twice that I couldn’t do it. Traveling comes second nature to me. Growing up 30 miles out to sea on an island surrounded by water, traveling was never easy, but always had to be done. A significant part of my life has been traveling by boat or by plane on and off the island. With that being said, I never realized how much I long to travel until recently.

This past May I traveled for a month to seven different cities all over Europe. The sounds of the new cities, the divine cuisine, the rich culture, and diverse group of people made me fall in love with the world of travel. I knew I really developed a passion when I returned to the beautiful beaches of Nantucket and couldn't go a day without thinking about being in Europe or trying to scheme a plan on how to get back there.

It’s been five months and nothing has changed. As a hospitality management major, my door is wide open when it comes to opportunities at locations around the world. As one of the largest and fasting growing industries today, I hope one day in the future I can take advantage of a job overseas enriched in another culture, besides my own.
