Originally, I’m from a small town in rural Virginia called Monterey. Small meaning, it’s an hour drive to the closest grocery store. The past three plus years I’ve lived in the great city of Chicago, with more residents in my apartment building than in the county I grew up. I've come to truly love both the star-filled country sky and the bright lights of a city skyline.
With an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, I have spent five years building knowledge of clinical information systems and advising clients implementing electronic medical records (EMRs), working first at Allscripts Healthcare and most recently Deloitte Consulting. My roles have included strategic planning, design lead, testing and activation coordinator allowing me to experience and learn about the full project life cycle. Most recently, working with international clients in Canada and Denmark has given me the opportunity to experience the differences, and often similarities, of working on international teams.
When not at work or with family, I enjoy traveling as much as possible both domestically and abroad. Camera in hand, ready to shoot, I love exploring unique places and trying new types of food. My latest adventure was to South Africa. I fell in love with the culture, beautiful landscapes, and exotic animals that were around every turn.
