This is my blog as Teesside University Students Union President 2015/2016! I'm a Student Nurse (Adult), I was a finalist at The Nursing Times Awards 2015 for Outstanding Contribution to Student Affairs, my studies are currently paused which began in Feburary due to a rugby injury but I was in my final year of study which I will return next June/July 2016 once my term ends.
So a little about me I guess!
I'm from Middlesbrough and have lived here all my life, I'm a mature student at 29 and also have a 5 year old son, during my I've been a student representative for the school of health and social care, twice being named Student Rep Of The Year by the SU and Student Representatives Rep. I've actively taken part in lots of voluntary activities to raise funds for good causes. I have been Treasurer of the Nursing Society, winning societies personality of the year. I love been active and sport including Rugby, Powerlifting, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Equestrian. Before coming to Uni I worked for her family businesses and as a Youth worker in Middlesbrough.
I ran in the election due to all the activity I have been involved during my time and I genuinely love what our students union do for the students here at Teesside, I believe in the role they play and how the represent students, I've been involved in change while I have been here. I wanted to continue to make change and improve the student experience here at Teesside.
