1. For the strengths quest report I discovered that communication was one of my strengths. Now that does't really come as much of surprise to me because I love talking and interacting with people. Being able to communicate means being able to effectively make connections and relationships with those around you regardless of who they are or what the circumstances may be. I really identify with this strength because I have never been the kind of person to sit back and just listen, I like to be the one that helps engage others in a conversation. This strength impacts all aspects of my life because not only does it allow me to make new friends wherever I go, but it also will help me out in future professional situations when I am starting a career or a job.
2. In the letter to myself assignment I touched on things that I should and shouldn't be doing during my first semester at Ohio State. By completing that assignment and writing that letter, I was able to know exactly what I wanted to do and accomplish this year. That letter helped me pin point issues I may have had in the past regarding procrastination or not studying for tests. As a result of addressing previous problems with my study habits I was able to change my work ethic for this year. I think this letter ultimately contributed to my first year success and helped keep me on the right track.
3. The curriculum plan activities we did this semester were probably the most helpful and important things, at least in my opinion. Coming to college can be a little overwhelming and scheduling can get confusing so by having some guidance I feel as if I was better steered in the right direction. The pamphlets and various worksheets/papers we filled out helped me create a guide that I can follow for the next few years in order to obtain my goal of graduating on time with a major I am in love with. Also, I can now schedule classes for the upcoming semesters and know exactly what I'm doing and why I'm doing it! By staying focused and on track, I will be able to better dive into a career that I am passionate about and in addition, be much more prepared for it.
